Polish football star Robert Lewandowski is stepping away from the national team. The 36-year-old striker took to social media to announce his decision, which stems from a conflict with head coach Michal Probierz. 4s1o5r

“Considering the circumstances and the loss of trust in the coach of the Polish National Team, I decided to resign from playing in the Polish National Team until he is the coach. I hope that I will be able to play for the best fans in the world again.” added Lewandowski, who debuted for Poland on September 10, 2008, and went on to make 158 appearances, scoring a record 85 goals.

Polish media revealed that Lewandowski was upset after Probierz stripped him of the captain’s armband. The Barcelona forward was given a rest and was not called up for the recent friendly against Moldova, which Poland won 2–0, but he still appeared at the stadium to say goodbye to his longtime teammate Kamil Grosicki.

Probierz has been in charge of Poland since September 2023, leading the team in 20 matches, recording 10 victories, 4 draws, and 6 defeats. He has used 47 different players so far.
